How long will the machine run?

The CarpetMax uses 4 big 145-amp hour batteries. You should clean a minimum of 30,000 square feet up to 45,000 square feet depending on conditions such as the type of carpet (cut pile or looped) and the aggression of the cleaning pad or bonnet. A football field is 30,000 square feet, a lot of carpet. Another way to answer this question is in time. Your CarpetMax will run about three hours. You say that’s not so much. It is and Ill tell you why. That is three hours of actual run time not job time. Take three hours plus vacuum time, refill time, waiting for elevators, breaks, and any conversation ECT and you will eat up a shift.

How loud is the CarpetMax?

You can easily run your CarpetMax at night. Much of the testing we did was at large nursing homes after 8:30 pm. unlike loud extraction equipment noise will not be a problem for you with the CarpetMax.

How do I transport the CarpetMax?

You have three options if you are not leaving your machine at one location. It is very easy to transport the CarpetMax in a full size van using a quality folding or foldout ramp. I saw and liked very much the GreaTex folding ramp model # FX-3080. Depending on the floor height of the van in most cases I would say to add the bridge ramp model
# BR-3030. These pieces are extremely well made. Ask for Randy his number is
800-687-1068. Another options is a trailer with a ramp door, this is how we started. Your third option is a cube type or any truck that has a lift gate.

What is the warranty?

You receive a one year or 500 hour basic warranty on the machine. You also receive a three-year warranty on the frame. With this you can have peace of mind that your machine will operate properly and be free of manufacturing defects.

I clean an older building with very uneven floors, how will your machine do?

The CarpetMax has two full floating heads. This means that on a very uneven surface each head assembly can instantly respond to the condition. Independent of each other like an independent suspension on a car the heads will pivot left, right, up, forward or back allowing the pad or bonnet to maintain the best possible contact with the surface being cleaned. This is also gentler on the floors and carpets being cleaned. A machine with a fixed head or vacuum casting is more likely to grind into the high spots and neglect the low spots. Not so with the CarpetMax.

How does the CarpetMax apply the cleaning solution?

To my knowledge no other machine gives you as many options. First you have a choice between a toggle switch that turns on the pump for continuous operation such a long hallways. Next you have a light touch momentary button that allows you to blip the solution giving you a very fast on/off of the spraying system or you can continue to press it for a continuous spray. You would use this at the end of a hall or around furniture. Next you have a high quality Parker needle valve that allows you to adjust the volume of the spraying system. Have a dirty carpet adjust it to full. Need the carpet to dry faster, reduce the spraying systems output. We also offer as an option a through the apron feed. This would be equal to a gravity feed on a machine like a Cimex that applies cleaning solution through the machine apron directly onto the pad drive. This is a great way to go for encapsulation. With our machine this is done under controllable pressure using the needle valve to control your flow. This allows you to not over wet the carpets and prevents the wasting of chemical. It can also reduce odor as none of the cleaning solution is aerosolized. No other machine gives you so much versatility.

Who will repair my CarpetMax should it ever need service?

This is much easier than you might think. If you should have a problem you will call us.
We will determine the issue over the phone and if you are able to replace it yourself we will send you the part for replacement. If the issue cannot be resolved over the phone and or you are not comfortable with the part replacement you can take your machine to anyone you trust who services extraction or truck mounted equipment and we will handle the rest with them from that point on.

I am not comfortable purchasing without seeing the machine what can I do?

You have several options. Actually people do purchase our machine based on the info they receive on the phone, web and video. You may also come and see us! We will pick you up a Philadelphia International Airport, drive you to our location, go over the machine from top to bottom answering all your questions and if you wish take you out to one of our local commercial clients and let you operated the CarpetMax in a real world setting. Than we will buy you lunch and return you to the airport. We will even give you a $ 300.00 travel credit should you decide to purchase. This does take a day or so of your time. But remember the time for this inspection and investment time does not compare to the amount of time the CarpetMax will save you in the years to come!

Your next option is to purchase the CarpetMax outright. After you receive your machine you can put three hours on the meter, on full days worth of work. If you are not happy with your purchase you may return the machine. Conditions do apply: The CarpetMax must be in the same condition that we sent it to you in, clean and free of damage and scratches. You will be responsible to re crate and ship the machine back to us. We will refund the cost of shipping the CarpetMax to you should you decide to return it, but you will be responsible for the return costs. You will have a 7% restocking fee that covers our receiving the machine and a complete inspection of the unit. Any damage would be deducted from your refund at that time. Other conditions and terms may apply. This is a great option for those that already know that they want the CarpetMax but would like a little extra peace of mind. To date no one has asked to return the CarpetMax.

Is the CarpetMax hard to service?

Your CarpetMax is very easy to maintain. Your drive system motor is brush less. This means it not only produces more torque and dissipates heat better it requires no maintenance. There are two filtered check valves, from time to time these will need to be cleaned. This will take under 5 minutes it is also shown on the video. Also depending on usage you will need to refill the water level in the batteries using distilled water. No tools are required. This will also take about 5 minutes and is shown on the video. Other than cleaning to keep up appearances no other regular maintenance is required.

How will I know what chemicals and bonnets or pads to use?

We have made the CarpetMax into a complete system. We have developed an encapsulant cleaning solution under the Surround Brand, encapsulating no-rinse general spotter and encapsulation pads that are just right for the CarpetMax. We also carry some if not thee best bonnets you will ever find.

How did you come up with the CarpetMax?

I have been a carpet and floor cleaner since 1985. I started my business at the age of 19. (www.keyfloorcare.net) In 1999 I started work on the first ride on bonnet cleaning the machine the BCR. I made 4 working prototypes before I made the production model. This took me about 5 years. Although the BCR was made and functioned very well it did not have great curb appeal. Raytheon the Builder of the Patriot Missile that was used to defend our country purchased two units that they still have in service today. Because the BCR looked somewhat like a senior scooter it was not well received. In 2004 I started work on a two-headed machine that looked like Arnold Schwarzenegger would use if he cleaned carpets. You can see prototype pics under the picture section. This machine is less expensive to buy, has three times the production rate and is much more maneuverable than the BCR was. The other thing that sets me apart is the fact that not only do I have over two decades of actual cleaning time but that I get the opportunity to take my machines to my clients locations and test them over and over again for months and even years. This gives my designs real world experience. The CarpetMax is not a machine designed by a draftsman who never cleaned before. Many things look great on paper but fail in the real world. This type of testing is also done with all of our chemicals and pads. I know what you guys do and need because my cleaning company requires the same things, quality, durability and increased production without sacrificing the end result.
